dog ear infection?????
The other day I noticed my dogs ear was irritated. The inside is a lot more pink than it normally is. He does not want anyone to touch the ear. Normally both his ear stick straight up but the infected one he has drooping a bit. I was reading on other posts and websites and they were saying that the dog will scratch the ear or try not to move because it hurts a lot. He is not doing any other those. The only symptoms is the dark pink on the inner ear, ear drooping, and irritated to the touch. Could this be something more than an ear infection? I am going to make an appiontment to see the vet tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to get it treated.
When a dog has an ear infection it gets red inside and often you can see dark black wax in it. They shake their head A LOT or may rub their head on the carpet because it’s irritated. Sometimes (not all the time) you can hear the fluid inside the ear when they shake it. If your dog doesn’t want it to be touched and it’s red inside it’s likely he’s coming down with an infection or already has one. Good choice by making an appointment at the vet, they should be able to get you some antibiotics and ear cleaner (which can be used on a regular basis even if they don’t have an ear infection, as a precautionary measure) if it turns out to be an infection. Good luck!
