Dogs Twisted Stomach Symptoms
I’m afraid my dog is showing symptoms of bloat but he was then able to vomit his food, does that mean he’s ok?
His stomach seems swollen and hard to the touch. He vomitted on about the third try but his stomach is still taught. I’m planning to get to the vet in an hour when they open but doesn’t the vomitting mean he stomach must still be in the normal position and not twisted?
He vomitted 4 times total and I was able to check him in a little earlier than when they technically open. I’ll repost as soon as they let me know what needs to be done.
They are saying they want $225 to take xrays to diagnose bloat and that he has vomitted 3 more times. everything I read online makes it look like his stomach isn’t twisted if he is still vomitting that much… doesn’t that mean they can stick the tube down to release the pressure???? I’m just not sure I’m ready to fork over money to verify something that seems relatively obvious as the cause.
No, the vomiting does not mean he’s OK. Please go NOW to a vet–don’t wait. You usually have less than 2 hours to successfully intervene in bloat. Bloat is an EMERGENCY.
