How To Feed Your Dog A Healthy Diet

How To Feed Your Dog A Healthy Diet
Ever Veterinary your advice for dog food?

In my view, Vets are paid by major dog food companies to promote products. Veterinary nutritionists are NO, their studies were taught to treat a dog in the event of injury or illness, not what to feed a dog that some of them live a long and healthy life. Why take these peoples advice like that? Veterinary not make money with our dog because it brings in upset stomach or an allergic reaction? Would you recommend the food best dog food to its clients if it meant they would lose money because pets are much healthier and also due to the fact that they lose the incentive of large companies like Science Diet? I wan't to know what you all think. Personally, I turned three types of dog food: Orijen, EVO and Taste of the jungle and I would never trust my vet to recommend a good food for my dog, but I would like to know why some others rely on their veterinarians recommendation.

I touch my dogs almost never see the vet for them – make it look more likely that most veterinarians and veterinarians are often here for the horses (stud work) All comments on how well the dogs look and are surprised when I tell them they are fed raw. I can get feedback about diet plays an unbalanced, they need XY and Z then look back and realize they are wrong. I had in elderly BC guessed that a new vet was 7 or 8 and she was 14. No tartar on your teeth and not a sign of rigidity. That made crude to the vet you have a couple of other equine veterinarians. Therefore, I will not ask a veterinarian for feeding advice for all animals.

Dog To Human Virus

Dog To Human Virus
Is it possible for a human stomach virus to be contagious to dogs?

I have 2 dogs–a border collie and an aussie–both have had all their shots within the past 5 months. Two days ago I stayed home form work with a stomach bug. Yesterday the border collie presented the same symptoms I had. Today, she is fine but the aussie is ill (same syptoms). Both are active, energetic and don’t appear to feel sick, so I am not overly concerned with rushing them to a vet.

Has anyone ever heard of a dog catching a virus like this from a human?
They do not eat human food, only Bil-Jac. I do know that it is possible for dogs to catch viruses from other mammals, so it is not out of the realm of possibility for a human-dog transfer of germs….

some virus are classed as a zoonotic infection which simply means it can be passed from animal to human and vice verse. I would keep a close eye on them for a couple of weeks at least as some virus can reoccur and so the cycle begins again. If this happens i would see your doc for a diagnosis, this may be the only way to break the chain of infection. Good Luck xx

Dr Dog Old Ways

Dr Dog Old Ways
Question about dissolvable stitches scars?

I have an 8yr old daughter who was bit by a dog on the face when she was 13 months old. They used over 110 dissolvable stitches. Unfortunately it appears that not all of them dissolved properly. She has a few raised spots which look almost like white heads. The dr said that this was from the knots of the stitches and would go away with time but seeing as its been 7 years I was wondering if these will be permanent and if there is any way to get rid of them. At the time the dr recommended plastic surgery to get rid of the scars when she is a teenager (when her face has finished growing) but she is starting to be self conscious about the knots so I was wondering if they could be fixed prior to plastic surgery on the scars. The scars themselves aren’t as noticeable as the stitch knots are. I hope I explained this well enough!

Those stitch knots are part of her skin heal over/ The continuous evenness of the skin has been marred by the puncture wounds of the dog bite itself. As it went through all the layers of the skin, the bridge the body makes to repair the injury is not identical to the skin that was there(scar tissue – which is a different cell structure type that “bridges and joins” the edges together. That “repair material’ the body manufactures is used over the whole body as a “patch all-kit” whether it be the skin or it be internal organs.
All a plastic surgeon do is cut out the scar and hold the skin closer together by mechanical means so that the “bodies repair kit” will make smaller bridges to gap the wound.
Oops, Almost missed the question. There are no stiches left, just this overgrowth of scar tissue material that remains(and you will always have a scar once you cut a surface)(how can you uncut a surface once it has been cut)?
Can you put anything on it? Base and blush or whatever you ladies use in makeup chemistry. It is her skin, just like a mole.

Why Is My Dog Not Eating

Why Is My Dog Not Eating
Why is our dog not eating breakfast?

Every morning we give my dog dry biscuit chum food , sometimes he eats it straight away sometimes he doesnt for example,

Last week he ate all his food every day as soon as it was given to him, but THIS week he only ate it completely on some days and ate some at lunch and didn’t eat as soon as it was given to him. weve tried changing flavours and brands but this seems to be the case with every brand of dry food

why might this be?
if we feed him ONE can of dog food in the evening is that enough for one day?

Probably because he isn’t very hungry. You can probably get away with feeding him once a day – in the evening. As dogs get older some of them only need to be fed once a day. My dog use to eat twice a day, AM and PM, but then one day he just didn’t bother eating the AM meal (like three days in a row), so I quit feeding him then. He does fine on once a day. You might want to try this for a week or so and see how he eats the one meal.
